Sabbath

* A Flower tea from my mentor
when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer

Youngeun Joyce Kang

It’s a cup of flower tea in the middle of a busy day

It’s a rope on a blizzard day

It’s a breath amid non-stop worrying

It’s a joy to find who we are and who God is

It’s faith, drawn from creation, in the presence of the Creator

It’s restoration—a bond with God and His people through the Spirit

It’s freedom, releasing ownership of our lives to God’s control

It’s the life we are meant to live, unfolding within God’s plan

It’s the most important thing, yet the hardest thing to do in this fast-changing world

It's Adam’s first task after he was created,

a practice we all need while we live on earth

and the eternal calling we will continue after entering the everlasting Sabbath.

It’s a gift from God, given to us.
