Let Me Praise the Lord in This Quiet Morning

As the sun slowly opens its eyes, rubbing them with rays of light,

As toads sing in rhythm,

As birds color the sky with the hue of their own voices,

As Loon lifts her voice like an opera singer and sings a solo,

As dew on the grass gathers like tears welling in the eyes,

As the lake gently dances, rippling with the wind,

As trees play an orchestra, led by the conductor wind,

As white-veiled clouds rest in the blue sky’s embrace and feel love—

Let me, too, join the praise of all Your creation.

Let me give thanks for this day You’ve gifted me,

Be moved by the grace of salvation You’ve given,

And live with hope in what You will do.

Let me sing one line of this endless cantata

With the song of my life.

고요한 이 아침에 주를 찬양하게 하소서 

햇님이 햇살 눈을 비비며 천천히 눈을 뜨듯이 

두꺼비들이 박자에 맞춰 노래하듯이

새들이 자기의 목소리 색으로 하늘을 물들이듯이 

룬이 오페라 가수처럼 목소리 높여 솔로를 하듯이

잔디의 이슬이 눈에 촉촉히 맺힌 눈물을 머금듯이

호수가 바람 따라 물결을 만들며 잔잔히 춤을 추듯이

나무들이 바람의 지휘에 맞춰 오케스트라를 연주하듯이

하얀 면사포를 두른 구름이 파란 하늘 품에 안겨 사랑을 느끼듯이

저도 주님이 만드신 창조물들의 찬양 속에서 

오늘 하루를 선물로 주심에 감사하고 

나를 구원하신 주님의 은혜에 감격하며 

하나님이 하실 일을 기대하며 

나의 삶의 노래로 끝없는 이 칸타타의 한 소절을 부르게 하소서
